We have a quick post for you today. We want to touch upon a few blazing topics and get some input from you.
J.D Drew
In Drew’s last 13 games (since May 25th against Oakland) – he has had 38 at bats, 17 hits, 4 HRs, 10 RBIs, and 8 BBs. In those 13 games he has .447BA, .542 OBP and a .895 SLG.
Is Drew finally coming around, is it a product of batting ahead of Manny, or is it a little of both?
David Ortiz
While Drew’s offense has really helped the Red Sox lineup sans Big Papi, the schedule is also going to benefit them. After the 3-game home series against Baltimore, the Red Sox have 15 games against the National League, 9 which are away (3 against Cincinnati, 3 against the Phillies, and 3 at Houston).
If you ever wanted to pick a time for Ortiz to come up lame, this would be the time, no?
Justin Masterson
Masterson just picked up his 3rd win in 4 starts for the Red Sox. His line yesterday against the Mariners was 6 innings, 3 hits, 1 ER, and 4 Ks. He lowered his ERA to a thin 2.59.
How nice is it to have some depth? It’s great to see him have a chance to stick around a while, but what do the Red Sox do once Buccholz “figures things out” and Matsuzaka gets healthy?
Again, we’d love to hear your thoughts. Get those points for the contest. Don’t fall too far behind the competition!

June 10th, 2008 at 3:01 pmI think batting ahead of Manny has really helped Drew. And with Big Papi out, it’s really nice to see that they still have a nice 1-2 punch. Also, I’m not quite a believer in Buchholz “figuring things out” so I’m going to enjoy Masterson for as long as possible. Bring on the tickets! (Speaking of tickets, I’m trying to get some for the game in Philly)

June 10th, 2008 at 6:02 pmThe 3 hole is turning out to be a nice spot for Drew (I type this as he hits a 2-run homerun), but I’d much rather have pitchers face Ortiz there.
Buchholz is legit, it will be nice having him back.
